This would have been songwriter A.L. Doodle Owens 84th Birthday. A.L. was born in Waco, Texas on November 28th 1930. He was one of the most prolific writers in country music until his death in 1999. He had a long songwriting partnership with Dallas Frazier, with whom he wrote All I Have to Offer You (Is Me) (1969), (Im So) Afraid of Losing You Again (1969), I Cant Believe That Youve Stopped Loving Me(1970) and Then Who Am I (1974), all #1 country hits for Charley Pride. In the 1980s Owens wrote many songs with fellow songwriter Dennis Knutson for George Jones and other artists. including Cold Summer Day in Georgia (Gene Watson) - #24 1985 Somebody Wants Me Out of the Way (George Jones) - #9, 1986 Wine Colored Roses (George Jones) - #10 , 1986 The Bird (George Jones) - #26 1987 & The Right Left Hand (George Jones) - #8 1987 https://youtube/watch?v=GBfGJPQGftk
