This year I havent really been able to get into the Christmas spirit. I keep thinking about how hard this season is for so many people and to have everyone around you merrily carrying on must make it worse. Keep thinking about people who have experienced tragedy this year and how its impacted their ability to get in the spirit, and even just the many people who have little or no shelter with snow coming in tonight.... Then I remembered this morning that there is nothing more like the Spirit then thinking of the welfare of others. That is after all why Jesus was born. The servant of all, the Savior of the world. You dont have to look far for a way to bless someone near you in need. A meal, a blanket, warm clothes, a kind word, even the sharing truth that God loves them! Lets look for ways to say yes to the True Christmas Spirit and bless, encourage, and cover others this season of celebrating the God of the universe humbling becoming a baby so that we might eternally benefit from His life, death, and resurrection. That I can get into.
