This year both The War Memorial Park and Eastrop Park were mystery shopped by the Green Flag Awards Team and both parks have again received a Green Flag Award for 2013-2014 for their high standards. This is great news and to celebrate we would like to invite a number of volunteers from Incredible Edible who have been involved in the planting of the orchard to a photo-shoot with The Gazette at 5pm on Tuesday 20th August at The War Memorial Park. If you are available then could you please arrive at 10 minutes to 5pm at The War Memorial Park Gates (near the Civic Offices), preferably wearing something green! This should give us enough time to get everyone in place for the photo shoot which we are planning to stage as a ‘Green Flag picnic’. If you would like to bring any props such as apples/pears or a spade to show what activity you have been involved in then even better. We are hoping to include in the photo key members of the community that use the park for community events and activities. If you are able to make it to the photo-shoot then it would be much appreciated and I would be grateful if you could let me know if you are able to attend.
