This year has been a profoundly transformative year for me, changing nearly every aspect of the person I was becoming and reclaiming the essence of my true being, but nothing I have read, or seen or experienced all year has been quite as transformational as the book A General Theory of Love by several noted scientists about the psychobiology of love ...and though I am only half way through this amazing book, I have already learned so much about how I manage to repeat certain unhealthy patterns and why its not actually an unhealthy thing to want or need affection (I always thought it was and have spent my whole life trying to stop). I would seriously recommend this book to anyone who is wondering why they struggle to have healthy relationships and why all the positive thinking doesnt really work... Im not sure it will help you solve the issue but you will at least come away with an understanding of why these things happen... I dont feel broken anymore because I now understand why I am the way I am and now perhaps I can start thinking about having the life I want, believing that its actually possible and figuring out how to make it happen! ☺️
