This year in particular, I am challenged, inspired, and comforted when I consider the idea of the Word taking on flesh and making Its home amongst us: what kind of flesh does God take on? Where does God make Gods home? Inevitably, I have to answer that our Immanuel chooses to be amongst those whom the powers of this world deem the least of these, joining in the cries for justice, healing and reconciling the hurting and broken, and demonstrating that self-giving love is a stronger power than than that of domination and harm. Merry Christmas, and on earth, peace and goodwill to ALL people!
