This year is eerily similar to last as far as roster decisions for the Cardinals go in the playoffs. Last year, Skippy sits like he doesnt even exist on the team when, I believe, his insertion into the lineup would have provided a spark and much-needed scrappy-grit to the batting order, while this year, Shelby sits for God knows what reason, while Cruz, who has proven to be a valuable bat off the bench as a PH and our only backup catcher, isnt rostered. Also, why was Craig batting 6th behind Molina last night? I didnt like it. I dont think that kind of protection is good/necessary for a batter like Yadi. Curious stuff from Matheny.
