This year, our goal is to provide 1,500 backpacks filled with school supplies to impoverished children in the NYS Capital Region. As the volunteers who came to the crisis center today can tell you, we are VERY VERY short on supplies. Currently, we are extremely behind and are in desperate need of the following: *** Elementary School Backpacks ***Crayons ***Folders ***Hard Plastic Pencil Boxes for Elementary Students Colored Pencils Markers Loose Leaf Paper Index Cards Binders Glue Sticks Other Needs Include: Pens Pencils Highlighters Calculators Protractors Notebooks Child Scissors Rulers Donations are tax-deductible, and may be dropped off at the following locations: Things of My Very Own, Inc. While many of you may not live in New York State, I am sure that we can all agree, that no matter where a child is, no matter what the need is, we can not turn a blind eye to those who need us most.
