Those of you in the corporate world will know how important it is to prepare for a meeting. One has to have all their files in order, presentations made ready in the form of schedules or a slide show, or be equipped with answers on matters relating to their portfolio. So much of time & effort is set aside just to make sure that the meeting goes smoothly & is fruitful. Even our dress code & conduct is appropriate. Sometimes we have weeks & other times hours to prepare for it. However, there is one big meeting that we have our whole lives to prepare for & that is with our Lord Supreme. Death is inevitable, & those of us with scriptures know that a meeting on the day of Reckoning is surely going to take place, & it cannot be avoided. For that meeting we have to make sure that our hearts are in order & in the right place. We have to take cognizance of our faults by introspecting on the slideshow of our lives with a view to rectifying those. A schedule of our deeds will be presented & there will be no delete or cut & paste option from an Excel programme to assist us. All that is available to us now. None of us are perfect, & I speak for myself first. We are so torn between making the right choices & decisions, hurting others, falling short of what is expected of us, losing our tempers, & sinning, no matter how small or big, which is counted in our book of life. We seek nurturing, spiritual cleansing on an ongoing basis, so as to wipe away or clean the trail of bad that we leave behind us. We are constantly challenged & faced by Satans temptations, & are always fighting to stay alive. We have to pray, for ourselves & for each other, to try and ensure that we do everything in our means to be ready for that all-important meeting that will set the tone for the rest of our eternal lives. May the Almighty have mercy on us & forgive us, & make it possible for each & everyone of us to be able to meet Him on that day with a clean record so that He is happy with us.
