Those of you who know me are aware that I am not one to use this venue for sharing political diatribes outside of the occasional commentary about my beloved Hawkeyes. Please forgive me for indulging in a brief political endorsement for a member of my family, Tony Bisignano. Tony is my cousin and I respect his service, both past and future, to the people of Iowa. He is passionate about working families and compassionate towards helping people in need. Like me, Tony is far from being a perfect person but his experience, intelligence and desire to serve as an elected official is commendable and merit respect. I am aware that I may anger some of Tonys adversaries by writing this post. My intention is not to cause controversy or disrespect anyone for their view or opinions, but rather share my own personal endorsement of Tonys general election candidacy as a Democrat running for the Iowa Senate. I know the real Tony Bisignano and if you live in Senate District 17 I hope you will vote for him next Tuesday at the polls or turn in your absentee ballot.
