Those who devote themselves to the Lord alone shall cross over - TopicsExpress

Those who devote themselves to the Lord alone shall cross over māyā. The following verse makes this clear: दैवी ह्येषा गुणमयी मम माया दुरत्यया । मामेव ये प्रपद्यन्ते मायामेतां तरन्ति ते ॥ ७.१४ ॥ क्योंकि मेरी यह गुणमयी दैवी माया दुरत्यय है अर्थात् इससे पार पाना बड़ा कठिन है । जो केवल मेरे ही शरण होए हैं, वे इस माया को तर जाते हैं । (७.१४) Verily, this divine illusion on Mine, made up of guṇas (caused by qualities) is difficult to cross over; those who take refuge in Me, they alone cross over this illusion. (7.14) Lord Kṛṣṇa himself admits that it is not easy for any ego-centric individual to transcend this delusion in himself which is caused by ‘My Maya’. Kṛṣṇa immediately removes any misconceptions from the minds of the students of Gītā. He is bringing home to us, by a direct merciless thrust, the seriousness of the mental tragedy into which the Supreme has seemingly fallen, to become the finite mortal ego! After declaring the seriousness of the disease and after giving the prescription, He hastens to guarantee a complete cure for this painful malady of man. THOSE WHO DEVOTE THEMSELVES TO ME ALONE shall cross over māyā, which has created for man the objective worlds of sorrows and imperfections. With single-pointed mind, to contemplate upon the Self is the direct path; and in order to walk this narrow-way, the mind is to be made steady and concentrated. Now, Q. Why is that all those who are meditating upon the Lord are not experiencing the glory?
