Though we laud the Govt for launching an ambitious plan termed Nyumba kumi initiative which will be based on information sharing among neighbours so as to reduce crimes rates,i strongly feel that the system will b unreliable in the kenyan context owing to the fact there have been similar plans in the past by the Govt such as community policing and vigilante groups which av been fruitless in sealing loopholes of our security systems.i wonder whether families would open up to the police especially if their brothers or relatives are muggers,killers or terrorists just to say least,or they would keep the info to themselves so that they continue living amongst us putting our lives at stake in the name of earning a livelihood from a Dandora dumpsite...its clear that one is never sure whether the police will trust you or betray u while policing in the village or in neighbourhood,unaezaitwa an accomplice to crime,bt vigilance is a must!! #just saying
