Thought came in as I watched how time is seemingly picking up light speed. Summer is almost gone, heading into the fall season. It took be back to Spring this past year when I went to a green market, & among all the veggies & fruits, I saw the most beautiful display of all sorts of flowers & colors, every size & shape, but most of all an array of my favorite flower, roses in colors beyond belief. Some were so vibrant they outshone the full sun that was shining that morning. I knew I had to bring one home, one from that spectacular group. I chose a simple variegated rose, lovely in its hot pink to white shading, to put in vase to admire. There it was for 12 days bringing joy to me & visiting friends that noticed the beauty of that rose. Something began to happen to this rose that had never done so before to any rose I have had in my entire life....it was sprouting. This was a cut flower mind you, not on growing in dirt one I expected to have for a few days, watch it wilt die, & then throw it away. This had leaves growing off the stem that grew to 3 inches long, green & healthy with new growth starting everyday. It was unbelievable to behold each day I expected it to be dead. But it just kept adding new leaves & new life everyday. The reason this is coming to mind & I am writing about it is the lesson we should all learn & keep in our hearts & mind. It is unbelievable to behold the rose to be dead everyday but it kept adding new leaves, new life. In our lives we need to keep growing, keep putting new leaves in the form of reaching out to others & putting beauty into their lives. Never give up in spite of some setbacks or unresponsive people, but always giving & not worry about getting back, A life spent in beauty, love & hope to others, will enable us to loook back with joy to what you have accomplished. Never regret a kind word left unsaid, a pat on the back not given, or even a smile not returned because of momentary glitch in your happiness factor that left you grumpy that day. Look for the roses that surround you & your life will be filled with new growth that will last forever. A ROSE IS MORE THAT A ROSE. IT IS BEAUTY & LOVE EXPRESSED.
