Thought for the Day: The rise of intolerance and bigotry is created by those who would justify their bigotry...simply because they dont recognize it in themselves, or attempt to justify their hatred with self-righteous indignation. Instead raising their bigotry to an elevated standard within their own minds as they criticize the bigotry of others, whether real or imagined. It is interesting to note: some of the synonyms of bigotry are: hypocrite, partisan and sectarian, where double standards abound, polarity is created and nurtured, to the mutual detriment of both sides. Bigotry: is a state of mind where a person holds stubborn and complete views regarding other groups with fear, distrust, prejudice or hatred solely on the basis of ethnicity, race, religion, national origin, gender, disability, socioeconomic status, political or other group characteristics.
