Thought of the Day… Faith is Always Now! “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1 NJKV) Harbari gani FB Family! By now you know the response of the day is Imani (ee-MAH-nee), the 7th principle of Kwanzaa which means Faith- “To believe with all our hearts in our parents, our teachers, our leaders, our people, and the righteousness and victory of our struggle.” Faith is also defined as, “Where is boasting then? If is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith” (Romans 3:27). Faith is a spiritual principle that operates in the kingdom of God. Just like gravity. True faith is not just believing something, but acting on what you believe. The woman with the issue of blood believed that Jesus could heal her. But until she “acted on her belief” did she get healed. You can believe all day long that your car can get you to the mall. But until you literally get into your car and drive it to the mall, you and your car will set at home all day and that new outfit in Belk’s will stay on the rack and not on you or in your closet. The point is, practice the law of faith in 2015. Faith is always now. There are certain things you believe but have yet to “pray it down.” Prayer is action. Prayer is always now. The victory of our struggle as a race is that we always had black folks who were willing to act on what they believe. On February 1, 1960, four African American college students walked up to a white’s only lunch counter at the local Woolworth’s store in Greensboro, North Carolina, and asked for coffee. Despite threat and intimidation, they waited to be served. The rest is history. Those brothers and sisters believed that segregation was not only illegal but immoral prior to going to Woolworth. They exercised faith by putting into action what they believed. What about you today as a black person? What about us as a black community? Do we believe in ourselves? Do we believe in each other? If we truly believe in the Nugzo Saba, the 7 principles of blackness, then we should act on them. There are many things we believe but we are too lazy to act on them. So you believe you want to start a new business? Where is the business plan? Do you believe that you can get that promotion? Where are the corresponding action steps? Has the Holy Spirit dropped in your spirit some things He wants you to do in your ministry? Faith is always now. Act on it. No matter how far you have gone in the wrong direction, turn around. God always deal with us in the “now.” Everything is now with God. I don’t care if you have messed up for the last 20 years, if you repent and turn to God, He will forgive you…Now! God will take you where you are (grace) and forgive you for the wasted time in your life. Besides, Jesus took care of those 20 years of messing up 2,000 years ago! So, we have no excuse. Stop worrying about things you don’t know and can’t control. We must put our faith in Jesus and at least act on the things we do know. Faith is always now. What are you waiting on…don’t just sit there…do something! Harambee, let’s pull together. Love, Peace & Blessings
