Thoughts for today: as long as I keep riding my bike I’m going - TopicsExpress

Thoughts for today: as long as I keep riding my bike I’m going to have to get used to hurting myself. I’m probably never going to understand why people associate my claims of being sympathetic to Marx’s views with being a communist—I’ve visited Eastern Europe, and I’m quite familiar with how that project worked out—I just believe in his critique of Capitalism and would argue the US has an oligarchy and not a functioning democracy; why is it so hard to understand? The Government shutdown might actually be exactly what is needed; as I see it, this tea-party-temper-tantrum will have a predictably significant impact on the next election (2016, I mean) which will in turn have a dramatic influence on 2020. The 2020 election will likely highlight several things, but I predict the 2020 census will serve to mark the end of current Republican Gerrymandering. …a new American democracy may be on the horizon, one in which wealthy minorities will not be able to buy political influence—politics may return to honest debates about people and principles… why not find a positive in everything going on? Also, are we on the verge of peace in the Middle East?
