Thoughts from the enemy (if listened to) turn into strongholds (lies believed or incorrect thinking patterns) which affect how you feel (you feelings often stem from your beliefs) and can cause you to remain in bondage to plain simple ignorance. Jesus made it clear that its possible for a believer to remain in bondage to sin even after theyve been set free, all due to ignorance of the truth in Gods Word (John 8:31-36) 31.Yahshua therefore said to those Jews that had believed him, If ye abide in my word, then are ye truly my disciples; 32.And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 33.They answered unto him, We are Abrahams seed, and have never yet been in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? 34.Yahshua answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Every one that committeth sin is the bondservant of sin. 35.And the bondservant abideth not in the house for ever: the son abideth for ever. 36.If therefore the Son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.. If you think youre a failure, youll feel like a failure. If you think youre a new creation (washed clean from your past), youll feel clean and new... alive in Christ!
