Thousands of anti-government protesters face water cannons and rubber bullets as they clash with police in Thailand. Thousands protesters battled through police tear gas in a renewed attempt to seize the office of the prime minister, Government House, and other key government buildings in the Thai capital Bangkok. The protests, aimed at toppling Yingluck Shinawatras government, have renewed fears of prolonged instability in one of southeast Asias biggest economies and comes just ahead of the peak holiday tourist season. Thailands prime minister responded to the demands of anti-government protesters by saying they were unacceptable under the constitution. In a televised news conference, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra made it clear that she would not step down as demanded by anti-government protesters. Her comments came as police continued to fire tear gas, water cannon and rubber bullets at thousands of protesters trying to seize government buildings in the Thai capital. The protesters, who are mostly middle-class Bangkok supporters of the opposition Democrat Party, want Yingluck to resign, claiming she is a proxy for her brother, former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. youtube/watch?v=BqBcb7-Jdac
