Thousands of police officers from across the country have gathered in New York City for the funeral of Rafael Ramos, a police officer shot to death with his partner, Officer Liu, in an ambush last week. Two of the roughly 25,000 officers are from Prince George County Police Department. SGT Earl Crawford and Officer Harold Shreves flew to New York yesterday to attend todays funeral service. This was made possible partially through JetBlues offer to fly officers from across the country to New York be present at this solemn occasion. Officers donned their dress blue uniforms to stand shoulder-to-shoulder outside the Christ Tabernacle Church in Queens for this mornings services to pay their respects, and to show America and each other that we stand together in solidarity. The services for Officer Liu are pending the arrival of his family. The Prince George County Police Department thanks all of its citizens who support the county and its Police Officers, who strive every day to make Prince George County a global community where families thrive and businesses prosper.
