‘Thrashing’ of doctor: Police refutes the charges Srinagar: Terming the claims of Doctors Association of Kashmir baseless, police Saturday said that no medico was thrashed anywhere in Srinagar on Saturday. DAK president Dr Nisar-ul-Hasan alleged that one Dr. Reyaz was dragged out of his car and thrashed by policemen at Noor Bagh in the city while he was on his way to Sheri Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura. SP City North Tahir Saleem said that there was a verbal altercation between a policeman and the doctor. “The policeman had advised the doctor to take an alternate route as the area from where the doctor was intending to pass was under curfew,” Saleem said. Saleem further added that the doctor disembarked from the car and left it there after exchange of arguments. “We somehow managed to drove the vehicle to his hospital and handed over the keys to him,” he said adding that it is irony that the said doctor accused police of manhandling him.
