Three county parks closed due to high winds County officials have closed three county parks on the north shore until further notice due to extremely high winds including Black Pot, Pine Trees and Haena. Signs are posted at these parks notifying the public about the closures. The parks will be reopened when they are deemed safe for public access. The public is advised to exercise extra caution while on the north shore and to be alert for potential hazards such as falling branches. The National Weather Service issued this afternoon a high wind advisory for Kauai, Niihau and other parts of the state effective at least until 6 p.m. this evening. A wind advisory means that sustained winds of at least 30 mph or gusts of at least 50 mph are expected.
