Three more things I am grateful for on day two of three: 1. I am grateful for the immense freedom and choices I have living in this country. I try very hard not to take any of it for granted, which is extremely tough when youve never really experienced true poverty or oppression. 2. At the same time, I am very grateful that I my career afforded me the opportunity to travel, work and interact with different people from all around the world. Its remarkable how much unrest and conflict we have since virtually all humans want the same basic three things: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. 3. I am grateful that I had the discipline early on (Note: my dad drilled it into me big time) to consistently save and invest some of what I made in my job. A few of those 35 years were very painful, but we were able to pay our kids college tuition in full, I retired a bit early at 55, and we never, ever blinked during the Great Recession. Three final gratefuls later today.
