Three movies Ive written, POLICE ACADEMY, NAKED GUN (ALL THREE), AND WRONGFULLY ACCUSED..thank you..thank you..The scores to these films are now available..go figure. Im very proud of the score for Wrongfully Accused, Bill Conti put together, lush, big orchestra sound. I wanted a 40s WARNER BROS feel and he made it happen. And now a story: First time directing, writing, producing a film. Im now at the film score recording session. Bill Conti and 40 or show musicians. He cranks up the orchestra..Im getting chills, the sound is wonderful. The score is perfect. Last wave of the baton. Orchestra stops. Bill and 40 musicians turn to me...waiting for some word from me, Im thinking, what? Silence into its 30th second. I feel the urge to speak..finally. Bill, wasnt it a little busy in the woodwinds? Its a line I remember Chaplin used at one of his recording sessions. I thought Id get laughs. No. Bill goes through the score..Okay bar 3, cut the I started a fire storm. I had to fess up. And so ends a story from Pat. Not particularly a great story..but a story
