Thrive, November 15 - Adams Me-List I went into my youngest sons room last evening to tuck him in and pray together - what I discovered humbled me and made me extremely proud all at the same time. You see, Adam stayed up a few more minutes than usual to... (here comes the kicker) write a list of who he is and what he likes (I have no idea where he picked this idea up from - but I want to share it my closest friends today)... Here is the list - with words spelled as he has written them --> Follow these rules... honor your father and mother, love one another, follow God, tell other people about God, pray and read the Bible. And especially listen to God and do what He tells you. Hold in your anger. Sing and be happy. Me, Im smart, strong, courageas, a Christian, nice, truthful, cheerful, discriptive, funny, alive, a kid, talks a lot, likes video games, likes to read, likes to draw, and is great at math and verrry responsible. “And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. 1 Chronicles 28:9 Simply and honestly - my son has a super-size of wholehearted devotion, and his daddy is thankful. My older son, Aric, will be participating in our annual youth rally skits this weekend as the apostle Peter and is also bringing a friend with him to the rally. I am surrounded by sons who know God and want to do something about that active relationship. I am simply thankful and humbled by sons who seek Him. The time you spend alone with God will transform your character and increase your devotion. Then your integrity and godly behavior in an unbelieving world will make others long to know the Lord. - Charles Stanley
