Throughout history, students of knowledge were known for their sacrifices to gain their knowledge. In the early years, students would travel long distance, endure great hardship and face life-threatening situations in order to learn Allahs Deen. Even today, we have students who leave their families and live overseas studying day and night in order to gain the knowledge of the Deen. This is why is saddens me when we have students who have access to the knowledge in our own homes, yet find every little thing to complain about in their online institutes. Rather than be grateful to Allah for making the study of Islam easier upon us than it was for those before us. What happened to the spirit of sacrifice when it comes to studying Allahs Deen? Has it been replaced with a spirit of entitlement?
