Thursday December 4 As of last night, Dad is completely off the drip sedatives and pain medication. These will take some time to get out of his system (a number of days). He is starting to make some basic facial gestures and wakes up now and then but we havent yet been able to properly communicate and ascertain his awareness ... this is normal and expected at this point. His heart is still weak and there are no improvements ... he is still fully dependent on the machines ... specifically ECMO. Again we pray that he has a comfortable and painless journey without these sedatives and pain killers ... its a necessary process that he has to go through ...
