Thursday January 8, 2015-29 days since transplant. Today wasnt one of the better days. Ben was very restless over night and respiratory therapy were concerned with some things. He was off the vent for a short time this morning, and did ok. A picc line was put in his left arm today in the hopes that they can remove the temporary catheter in the left side of his neck soon. They decided to perform a bronchoscopy today because they believe he either has pneumonia in the new lung or a partial collapsed lung. Both are treatable, but no results for 1-3 days. On Monday, they will be placing a feeding tube in his stomach and removing the NG tube from his nose. I hate to watch him go through all of these things, but to heal, they must happen. Please say extra prayers that he continues to heal with no major setbacks. Small things for someone else are GIGANTIC things for him to overcome at this point. I need him to be ok, and I pray to God every day to slowly heal him. Please please continue the prayers. I believe you all praying for us has gotten us this far.
