Thursday June 19th 2014 My 16,576th Blessed Day of Life; thank you Jesus! Business and more business. Today was a busy day, even though I did not go to the gym at all. Abby, Kellen and I worked at the house on about a dozen things that had to be done. We ordered equipment; trampoline and a new beam, and we worked on the websites, the bills, the taxes and the schedules. I believe by Monday all of the schedules for all of the staff will be up and running on the website for all of the coaches in Florida and in Maryland. We now have 24 staff members, and we are interviewing another one on Monday, and we are in the process of bringing over a coach from Germany that is Chinese, originally from Hong Kong; they call them Hong Kongers. We are in hopes to have both of the gyms completely staffed and ready for business for the fall. I really hope that we are in our new center and able to have two successful fall enrollments in two states. The new center in Orlando is running a bit behind. We were supposed to move into the center on Memorial Day weekend. However with the summer slow down, and a shortage of labor, as well as permits that have to be gotten, the building slowed down considerably. We are in hopes that the situation will turn around this summer and the building will pick up. Fall enrollment would be great in the new center and with new equipment in both of the centers. Currently we are also training and hiring staff in both centers. Our enrollment has picked up for both centers, and our summer camp in Maryland is approaching being full. The summer 1/2 day camps in Florida are about 1/2 full, and the classes are still in full swing. Both gyms competitive teams are growing and getting ready for the fall competition season, and both gyms now have a level 5 cheer team, and two lower teams as well. We are in the right position to really start the fall 2014 with a bang. This summer we will be recalculating the amount of foam blocks needed for the in ground pits in Florida, as we have now decided to put the trampoline in ground as well. We still need to get two more sets of bars, a ring stand, about a dozen more mats, two more beams, build about a half of a spring floor, and get 12 rolls of carpet bonded foam. The Maryland gym needs about a dozen more mats, another set of bars, another new beam, all new preschool equipment, and about 10 more rolls and inclines for tumbling. We are buying and picking up and building equipment everyday. I love to work, but man I feel like I have worked and worked. This week alone I have attended about 10 meetings between Face Time, phone, and in person, with staff, parents, board members and students. Both of the booster organizations are working on USAG number, uniforms, meet schedules, getting contracts signed for next year, and collecting money for the new season. The cheer organizations are also working on their 2014 schedule and uniforms too. I am also in the process of working with a second booster organization in both states to raise money. That organization is slow to get off the ground, but I do have a lot of moms and dads that are interested in helping. My night ended with a little TV, and one more Face Time meeting for business and then with the family to catch up on the week and tell everyone I missed them. It is hard to be split sometimes, but we are managing and beginning to thrive.
