Thursday Nolan went to feeding clinic, we did group feeding with - TopicsExpress

Thursday Nolan went to feeding clinic, we did group feeding with the therapists where we all eat at a table with him, he was very shy for them and did not want to eat. They decided to leave the room and watch from the camera then he ate a little bit. Nolan is now 19 pounds so he has gained 14 ounces since our last visit, that is not great but it is good he didnt loose! So the goal now is to get rid of the night feeding so he needs at least 24 ounces of his Boost Kids Essentials everyday. So I decided this weekend would be a great time to start this. Last night I did not hook us his feeding, I expected I would be awake several times because he would be hungry, but he slept all night and so did I. Friday he only took in roughly 16 ounces all day so I did give him a bolus feeding of 8 ounces through his tube over 2 hours. Then he continued to sleep all night, I will continue to do this in hopes that he eventually drinks 24 ounces in a day to stop the tube feeding all together. I would love to stop the night feeding, he has been on this since April 2013 when he came home. It takes a lot of work measuring out milk to put into a bag, run the tube up his pant leg so he does not get tangled in it, then hooking it up to his stomach. Then getting up every night at 1 am to put more milk in the bag. Then in the morning getting up at 5 am to turn it off and run water into the extension in his tummy to rinse it out, then unhooking him and rinsing the extension out. Oh what it would be like to just be able to lay him down to sleep without anything!
