Thursday, October 16. Update on Meg. As I visit Meg each day, I cant tell you the joy she brings me. She is almost always upbeat and full of love for everyone. She rattles off a list of people each day who she wants me to tell that she loves them. She is so innocent, loving and childlike. Although her speech is improving, the TIAs are becoming more frequent and they are affecting her ability to do all those things we normally take for granted. She has lost all ability to stand or walk and she continues to be fed through her PEG tube. The problem is that her memory continues to deteriorate and even simple things are becoming harder to do. Her blood pressure is consistently 190/110 with medication. While its difficult to realize that she will not be with us much longer, I feel fortunate to spend this time with her. She teaches me so much about humility and love. Just yesterday she told me that we should love and accept everyone for who they are, not who we want them to be. She touches my soul with that outpouring of unselfishness and unconditional love for everyone. Please visit her soon. We wont have this angel on earth much longer.
