Thursdays soapbox: Ive always had sympathy for celebrities who have substance abuse problems, both young and old, but particularly the young ones. It seems the majority enjoys poking fun at them and slandering them, and for some reason operate under the assumption that wealth and fame equals contentment. Well, imagine having it all and realizing it means nothing. Things dont buy happiness. Thins do however buy people. Id much rather live in a shack with the people I love most believing within my soul that they loved me for the right reasons than live in a mansion with an endless supply of money and never knowing who to trust. I have a special spot in my heart for the kids who became rich and famous before they have had the opportunity to discover themselves. That must be so confusing. No wonder the 27 Club is more than a myth. Just be thankful that our every move isnt released to the media. Personally, I really doubt I would have survived it. People are people, even celebrities. And bullying is bullying, even if its directed towards celebrities.
