“Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against - TopicsExpress

“Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against Thee.” (Psalm 119:11) Thomas Edison was one of the foremost inventors of his time. He invented 1,093 things before he died at age 87 in 1831. He was said to have lost his factory to fire at the age of 67. As he watched his lifetime achievements burn up by fire, hear what he said,”There is great value in disaster. All our mistakes are burnt up. Thank God we can start anew.” In three weeks after the disaster, he invented the phonograph, a sound recorder similar to a CD player today. His positive attitude and faith in God helped him to overcome. There are some secrets of overcoming in every area of life. These include faith, integrity, diligence, knowledge of and obedience to the Word of God, and a fighting spirit. Joseph, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, Caleb and Joshua, to mention but a few, had these qualities and hence they were overcomers. Your faith will grow as you study and meditate on God’s Word and pray daily. Moreover, “In everything, give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (1Thessalonians 5:18). Challenge: Do you take to heart the word of God? Prayer: Lord, root your word in my heart. Further Reading: Psalm 119: 130
