Tim Cabaniss. SHELBY - James Timothy Tim Cabaniss, 54, of 128 Cabaniss Farm Drive, Shelby, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby. Tim was born in Cleveland County on Jan. 29, 1960, and was a son of Mary Helen Hamrick Cabaniss and the late Robert Bob Franklin Cabaniss. A man with a servants heart, he was member of Zion Baptist Church where he served on the cemetery committee and was a former deacon. Always dedicated to his family, he was a caregiver for his parents. Tim was employed with Henson Building Materials working in outside sales. He had a playful heart and enjoyed being around kids, especially his children, nieces and nephews. He had a great love for the outdoors including gardening, tending his yard, camping, and especially enjoyed working with his beef cattle. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brother, Dwight Cabaniss. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cynthia Cindy Greene Cabaniss; son, Jim Cabaniss of Shelby; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Johnson and husband, Brandon of Belmont; brother, Richard F. Cabaniss and wife, Jenny of Shelby; sister-in-law, Mary Cabaniss of Shelby; and mother-in-law, Sara Greene of Shelby. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston. Condolences may be made online at stameyfuneralhome. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m.,Tuesday at Zion Baptist Church, Shelby, with Dr. Danny West officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Zion Baptist Church, 525 W. Zion Church Road, Shelby, NC 28150. Stamey Funeral Home of Fallston is serving the family.
