Timberline Annual Frontier Weekend to Feature Award Winning John Wayne (“The Duke”) Impersonator In addition to the authentic Old West pageantry which has been consistently presented over the years at Timberline’s Frontier Weekend, this year’s attraction on September 13 and 14 will feature the personal appearance of Howard Telego, recent winner of the John Wayne Look Alike and Sound Alike Competition at the Ohio Gene Autry Festival in May . Mr. Telego will be presented in the attire specific to three of his most famous movies including The Shootist, True Grit and The Cowboys. Mr. Telego’s performances and all weekend events at Timberline will be presented by the Saddle Tramps Historical Western Preservation Society. There will be no admission charge for any of the weekend events. The theme of the Frontier Weekend at Timberline Four Seasons Resort and Conference Center is consistent with a weekend in the Old West circa 1835 with authentic cow camp and chuck wagon complete with all the appropriate gear. Visitors will witness a live shoot out instigated by water rights. The shoot out between White Hats and Black Hats will take place on the slopes just behind the Timberline Ski Lodge. The weekend will also include trail rides on horseback, barbecue cookout, square dancing with instruction on the deck of the ski lodge and western music. This year’s musical cast will include Joe, Willis and Wyatt, vocalists with the Saddle Tramps Band. Special guest on keyboard will be Harley Wood. Guests are invited to enjoy the Saddle Tramps’ up tempo late night party on Friday and Saturday evening. Scenic chair lift to the recently expanded high altitude biking and hiking network extending from the 4268 foot summit of Herz Mountain will begin daily at 10 AM. Other amenities for visitors to enjoy include trail rides on horseback, mountain biking, volley ball, tennis and miniature golf.
