Time for a rant... To all airline crew! Considering what has happened in aviation in just the last 48hrs. Never let anyone tell you that what you do is not important! Your job is very important, at times dangerous and so much more then the traveling public will ever know. To the passenger that was so incredibly aggressive and threatening to myself and crew a few weeks back, I actually lost a couple of nights sleep over it. To the guy that got so upset over spilt orange juice, it was like a crew member had murdered his child. To the guy that was incredibly rude to two of my crew for an entire 13hrs, for no apparent reason. To the people that grunt at you or ignore you when they disembark, as if youve just flown them to hell. To the people that think all we do is serve tea and coffee and take your abuse. To the airline executives that continuously scheme ways to dilute our pay and conditions, while giving themselves big bonuses. Maybe next time you should just thank your flight attendant, show some respect and at the very least behave like a normal human being. We see the worst of people in our jobs in the sky. We do it away from our spouse, friends & family. We miss important holidays and special occasions and even the death of a dear parent. It is a thank less role and a remote role, but it is one that I love. I cant imagine doing anything else, however I have noticed an increase in tension and aggression on board from passengers over the last 12 months. I do understand this. Things do go wrong. Planes crash, go missing, get shot down, make emergency landings. The threat of terrorism is at an all time high, making life very tense in the air right now. All I ask is that you show some respect for your airline crews. We are just doing a job, we are there to help and assist you. We are not against you and we are just human like everybody else. Thank you to the incredible team of crew I work with on every single flight! I cant ever thank you enough! To all crew, keep doing what you are doing, hold your head high and fly safe...
