Time has proven me right again. Didnt I say that Pacquiao is - TopicsExpress

Time has proven me right again. Didnt I say that Pacquiao is always the sum total of his past experiences from which he learned lessons that he internalised into every molecule of his being? And I said that to Pacquiao, everything is nothing but a learning experience. There are no mistakes, there are only lessons from them. And so he continues to evolve. From the defeat to Marquez, he learned not to rush things when his opponent is just waiting for the opportunity to hit him with a big shot as he barges in to deliver the coup de grace (which usually occurs at the last ten seconds of each round). As a student of boxing, I could see that Bradley was just waiting for that lucky counter punch to keep his professional record squeaky clean. But, Pacquiao knew better. He didnt succumb to the trap, so to speak. Pacquiaos career skyrocketed after he lost to Erik Morales. His loss to El Terible signalled the reinvention of Pacman. From a one-dimensional fighter, Manny evolved into the complete fighter that he is today, with both fists equally powerful and stupendously lethal. After that defeat to Morales, Pacquiao fought undefeated for the next seven years, conquering the biggest names in boxing in heavier weight classes, including that of his nemesis: Erik Morales (whom he knocked out twice in his journey to super stardom). His first loss in seven years was in the hands of Bradley; but it was a loss that many considered a fluke. And, perhaps, in a moment of recklessness, he chalked up again another loss after he rushed into a Marquez crushing right straight in the dying seconds of the sixth round of their fourth fight, falling like a proverbial log on the canvass, unconscious. What did Pacquiao learn from that defeat? Yes, he learned not to be too cocky, impatient, and yes, reckless. Look at him again in the replay of his fight against Bradley. And you will see what I mean by Pacquiao becoming a mutant of his former self as he internalizes lessons from his past. We can all be like Manny. I dont know with all of you. But, the reason why I admire this fighter so much is because my attitude towards life simply mirrors the story of his life, his career, and his greatness. Like Manny, I always strive to learn from my past mistakes, my past experiences, and yes, even my past life in a metaphysical sense of the word ( But, thats another story). In the process, I become better everyday, becoming what each one of us must always try to be: a person made in the image of God.
