Time to attack something thats been getting on my nerves for far - TopicsExpress

Time to attack something thats been getting on my nerves for far too long. The non-stop trolling and deliberate derailing of topics posted by others needs to end. Now this sort of thing is bound to happen on a forum page with the accessibility of Facebook; but Im going to break it down for you in a form of logic that you may be able to understand. I run tournaments. Im not the only one who does, but the ones Im directly involved with are the best in the state and some of the best in New England. This page and our criminally underused follow page are extensions of our organizations image. When people are consistently made to feel unwelcome through interaction on these pages, the likelihood of them coming to an event for the first time or preparing to come to another decreases. When I know that people who rarely show up affect people who always try to, I get upset, and I get even more upset when people who troll online try to be my best bud when were off. Trust me, I dont forget, and if youre the cause of discomfort to other members on a regular basis, I assure you, my interaction with you in person will be cordial, but brief. Yesterday a member made a mistake of using a slang term commonly associated with developmental disability. He was wrong to do, but when it was brought up, I didnt want to reprimand him because lately the enforcement of all our language has been light and more than enough people on this page are to blame for making this person angry and defensive in the first place. This page is public. I have people at least once a week who arent members telling me they tune in to our misadventures. Lets bring it back around and make those misadventures fun to talk about again.
