Time to be creative and flexible. Claiming comprehensive jurisdiction and neutering HKs local democracy - does this not force HK people to ask unwelcome questions about national democracy? What is the harm in improving HKs local democracy? Reduce functional constituencies, democratize nominating committee membership, accept public recommendations, and reconfirm HK people ruling HK. All this can be done within the BL and the NPC decision. Moreover, Suzanne is right: Recognize that CY is an extremely divisive CE. But can the national burocrats relax the grip on HKs burocracy they worked so hard on since 2003, and so firmly established in 2012? How biased are the national burocrats responsible for HK affairs in their assessments and reports?
