Time to report on week 3 of my ecological challenge :D After a recent epiphany, I came to the realisation that some of my habits are kind of wasteful, and that Im helping to add to that big white elephant in the room/planet - LANDFILL (amongst other ecological nasties) Almost everyday, I like to make myself a fruit smoothie, which requires a bigger, fatter straw to suck up all that fruitie goodness... Yep, plastic straws are tiny, I know, but it all that plastic adds up - and Ive just been chucking em away, on a daily basis. To resolve this, I have purchased reusable straws. I bought moulded 2 piece plastic ones (easy to clean), however, I must have bought the last ones because they seem to be unavailable now, unless you look to buy from America. Anybody else who might be interested in reusable straws can, however, buy stainless steel straws, plus little straw cleaners, from pretty much anywhere on the internet, and they actually look pretty posh too. They only cost a couple of bob - a right proper bargain, and definitely a saving over time :)
