Time to show strength and unity! The more you avoid the fear, - TopicsExpress

Time to show strength and unity! The more you avoid the fear, the more it would haunt you; fear can only be avoided by facing it boldly. It has been around two decades; the entire Chakmas in Arunachal Pradesh have been continuing their lives in fear and insecurity. The major weakness lies on fear; the fear of being losing the battle, the fear of getting inhuman practice at their hands, the fear of losing livelihoods and the fear of getting the mouths crushed when voices are raised. It has been the reason situation of Chakmas in Arunachal Pradesh still has the same color and no sign of any improvement. It is the mental weakness which causes a person to lose the battle rather than his physical stamina; same is seen in Chakma people who, despite of being one of the largest populations in the state, they hesitate to raise their voice nationally. Are the Chakmas really what they are alleged of like criminals, land encroachers etc. as per the AAPSU? If not, then why there is a silence, no voice at all and no counter defense as well against those kinds of allegation? Silence is something that accommodates and creates suspicion and acceptance; a kind of acceptance that yes, we are what you are alleging us”. Therefore, in the entire community of Chakmas of more than 60 thousands, is there no single youth who can raise voice against those allegations? Just look at the Tibetans, how dedicated and active they are! They can give their lives when required in the name of pursuing the freedom and their rights from China! Do the Chakmas really have the power and strength to snatch their own rights from the Government? The AAPSU and other groups of the state never found a stiff counter resistance from Chakmas and they have taken the silence of Chakmas as their weakness. It is the reason the time has come up to show them some kind of solidarity as well as strength. Nikh Kamin, the only MLA who has been well wisher for Chakma and Hajong has been sacked from the Presidential post of PPA unconstitutionally which shows how much hatred and discriminative attitudes they have against the Chakmas. It would not be mistaken to say his unconstitutional sacking is a result of his love and affection towards the Chakma community. Now this is the right time for everyone to show solidarity and strength. How to Unify every Chakma? There must be a separate team which must comprise of students, general public leaders and others from different organizations. This team is solely dedicated for making everyone united; it must organize events and some kinds of activities where everyone is invited and respected with equal amount and it will act as catalyst for bringing unity among everyone. The team must be separated into two sub-parts; one part of the team has to work to create unity in villages to villages and people to people. Another part of the team must engage into unifying external groups and people from different parts of the country like Mizoram, Tripura, Bangladesh, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata etc. even in foreign countries as well. It must have a deadline and planning and once the deadline is successfully met, then there must be a demonstration against the continuous suffering from injustices, deprived of rights in such an amount so that national and international media provides its attention to the demands.
