Time to start a new welcome thread for the newest members of the TYT Detroit Army! Walter Buhro, Vicki Renee Webert- Buchan, Renee Singleton, Jeff Hank & Leah DuMouchel! Several new members found us through Wolf PAC Michigan! New members, please visit this group often, as this is our most active outlet for TYT Detroit. But for the best way to keep in touch, please message me your e-mail address. For my eyes only, I do send out e-mails time to time, as its simply the best way to keep in touch. Were in a contest right now, a competition between the different TYT city chapters. Were accumulating points through a variety of activities, most importantly through our meetups (we have at least one a month). The city with the most points at the end of the contest wins, and the winning city will see Cenk & Ana, hosts of The Young Turks, come out to that city for an EPIC event! Our next meetup Saturday, August 16 in Ann Arbor. Were looking forward to this event because were teaming up with Wolf Pac Michigan and Independent Underground Radio Live to host a candidate mixer! Were inviting all progressive candidates, with a focus on those from Livingston and Washtenaw counties. Then in September, were going to a Tigers game! So far our group is more than 80 strong and we have some great ideas for promoting through local media, so if youve been meaning to get out to a Tigers game this is the one to get to! Our meetups are the way were going to win the meetup contest, but only with the help of all of our members! We’re in second place on the leaderboard (tytworld/leaderboard/), behind our sworn enemy TYT Chicago (kidding, all in good fun!). We recently won one of the big point contests put on by TYT. A member of our group happens to be a marvelous artist, and we used his great skills to come out on top of the Best Sigil contest. See our winning entry attached to this message! And if youre now wondering just what the hell a sigil is, its a groups banner image and slogan. Such banners were popular in medieval times, and most recently have enjoyed a resurgence with the popularity of HBOs series Game of Thrones. Were proud of our sigil, as it conveys a message of power and resurgence for our region! And to help spread the word about TYT Detroit, there are a couple of things you can do straight away! The first is to invite your friends to join our merry little band. Our meetups are most casual and all progressive friends are welcome; your friends need not already be fans of TYT! The second is weve had some decals made for you to stick on your car. The decals are only $2 each and theyre vinyl, so you can easily remove them without solvent. Just drop a line if youd like a decal - theyre a great way to spread the word about TYT Detroit! Thanks for joining TYT Detroit. Hope to see you at a meetup soon!
