Tip: We all know that a well made acoustic instrument improves with time and being played so if you want to speed up the process stick it in front of a stereo whenever your playing music. The vibrations help relax the timber and simulate playing time. Just a heads up for my musician friends or anyone considering buying an acoustic guitar you should check out Zager. I had the pleasure of playing a friends a few weeks back and I was seriously impressed. I own a Maton ECW80C which retailed for about $2700 and Im happy with it. I found the Zager ZAD80CE ($1750 landed in Oz) had a slightly warmer bass response although I probably slightly prefered the sound of my Maton, however Im sure that could be put down to mine being played and aged for 9yrs as opposed to the brand new Zager. Also one has to consider the price difference! On playability the Zager faired very well and probably just better than my Maton which is also has excellent playability after being set up where as the Zager comes set up. What really impressed me with the Zager is its a work of art, beautifully presented guitar with inlays and workmanship etc. The other impressive thing is the service and communication. While your guitar is being made you receive weekly progress emails and the Zagers themselves are very accessible to discuss your needs. Zager guitars also come with Fishman electronics.
