Tip of the day, so you have already bought a TV but it is not smart TV that can connect to internet, play youtube from phone/tablet/laptop ,etc... The cheapest and straight forward way is to buy a raspberry PI board (credit card size 32 bit computer board (ARM based) that can run Linux) and connect it to TV via HMDI, add a wifi dongle (or Ethernet cable), add a mouse and a mini/full USB (wireless or normal) keyboard to it. Download XBMC media center and install it. and voila! You also got yourself a very cheap full PC running Linux as a bonus!
