Tis the season...for credit card fraud...keep an eye on your credit report this time of year. We stopped a guy from using stolen credit cards at our store today...he attempted to buy $700.00 worth of prepaid gift cards from us. Everything was turned over to the Normal Police. Thieves like to use stolen credit cards to buy cartons of cigarettes and prepaid gift cards. They sell them cheap on the street and they are almost impossible to trace....usually by the time the person has figured out that their identity has been stolen the video footage from the store is long gone...and the thieves get away....this type of fraud always picks up during the holiday season.
