Title: Dream Me Off My Feet Author: Stevie Kisner Publication info: Stephanie Kisner (October 24, 2012) [publication information from Amazon] Rating: (out of 5 fangs) 5 fangs out of 5 Review: I must begin this review by saying that this book is AMAZING! The author sucked me in from the very beginning of the book and I devoured it in big, greedy chunks. In fact, I stayed up much past my bed time in order to finish the book and I simply could not believe that the book clocks in at nearly 550 pages! When I started reading the book, I wondered why in the world it was being considered paranormal romance because the story seems well-rooted in the mundane worlds of rock and roll and fan fiction, in so much as either world is “mundane”. By the time the paranormal hook was introduced, it seemed perfectly normal and not at all intrusive to the flow of the story. After all, how many of us have wished that we could feel what our partner was feeling or that we could know what our partner was thinking? I know I have. It did take me a minute to get used to the convention the author uses to indicate which of the characters is thinking what, but once I did, I followed it as well as the normal convention of “she said”, particularly since the author is extremely consistent. It is obvious that the author has spent a great deal of time either in the worlds of rock and roll, photography and fandom or has done exhaustive research. Everything about all of those aspects of the novel seemed truly authentic, and I appreciated the author’s attention to detail. The book is poignant, hysterical, romantic and just plain fun! The changes between the POV of each of the main characters is smooth and the voices of each character are so well-defined, that the reader is not at all unsure as to which character is speaking. If there were typographical or grammar errors, they were so infrequent that they did not detract from the enjoyable reading of this novel. I strongly look forward to other adventures with this author, whether in this world or in another of her creation. The love scenes are frequent and are somewhat explicit, so I would not recommend this book to anyone under the age of 18. This book does contain a HEA ending, though there are some speed bumps along the way. Do keep your tissues handy.
