Titles conferring - Outstanding persons honoured ***************************************************************** The 2015 honorary medals conferring ceremony for outstanding persons was held at the Presidential Palace in Nay Pyi Taw, Sunday. On the occasion, the President said that honorary titles have been conferred on people for their generous contributions to the national solidarity and nation building. The government held the ceremony to confer honorary titles in the deserved persons in 2012 and the similar ceremonies could not be held in 2013 and 2014. As such, the titles would be conferred on the outstanding persons for those years. He also added that the recognition certificates will also be presented to 569 senior citizens across the country who are 100-year above and 200, 000 kyats each will be provided to them with the allowance fund of the Union government starting this time. The President then conferred Thayay Sithu Title for 2014 as well as Thura and Thiha Thura Titles for 2013 and 2014 to 11 outstanding persons. Concerning Thayay Sithu Title for 2014, the President presented Pyidaungsu Sithu Thingaha medal to Vice President Dr. Sai Mauk Kham and medals for bravery to defence service personnel.
