Titus 1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. The conscience uses the mind, but it is separate. The conscience has an intuitiveness that, at one time, revealed all our unrighteousness to us... Romans 1:18-20 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: But the conscience can be defiled and even seared to the point it no longer convicts us. 1 Timothy 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; This is because our minds have first been defiled. The intuitive knowledge of right and wrong that God gave all of us will eventually be overridden by the way we think.. Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee. Therefore, we need to line all of our thinking up with the Word of God so that our consciences will be programmed correctly. Those who have not received the life that Jesus brings are totally corrupted. Their minds and their consciences don’t work properly. They twist everything to fit their own philosophies.
