To Collector Kuttch Dear Sir, It is with utter shock and disgust that I bring to your notice that the food-packets that have been sent to Bharti Vidya Mandir at Kandla Port are of the worst quality and inedible even for animals. We visited the school and found no arrangements for sheltering the evacuated villagers. There were no bed sheets,quilts or any appropriate arrangement for those who have been brought to such shelter places. Is this the kind of *preparation* that happens before a disaster? Is this how the authorities will handle disaster management ? Not only the food packets are of absolute worst quality and non-fit for human consumption,they even arrived late. The ones who have been evacuated are poor fishermen families with infants and kids. They earn daily wages from Kandla Port Trust by working hard all through the day with sweat and honour. Is this how the authorities are going to treat people whore at this state of vulnerability? This is inhuman and cruel. Im pained to know this happening and am forced to share my agony and pain within my social network. Sir,how can we be so indifferent to the suffering of fellow human beings?
