To: Friends of Jungle Jim McClendon, As you may or may not have heard by now, our renowned Jungle Jim is struggling with his health and has been in and out of medical treatment for the past couple months. He is currently interned at the Utila Community Clinic and requires 24 hour medical care. His resources are minimal and his medical expenses are growing. In order for us to arrange proper care for him we are asking friends, acquaintances and colleagues for their assistance to help pay for his medical bills by making a tax deductible donation to the fund we have set up. Medical expenses are consisting of internment, 24 hr. medical care, medications, and other clinical items necessary for his care. We have a couple of different options available for giving your donations. Please choose from the below options we have established. 1.) Wesley Methodist Church – Mail or Online 2.) Utila – Driftwood or Bush’s Supermarket Wesley UMC of Beaumont TX has kindly agreed to allow us use of their ongoing Utila Fund as a repository for tax deductible donations for anyone wishing to donate to Jungle Jim McClendon’s health care. Donations can be made via mail or on line. Note: All donations should be earmarked with “Utila – Jungle Jim”. The donations that are for Jim’s care will be set up with a project code so that they are accounted for separately and the donors will get a receipt for the donation. When giving donations, donors should identify their gift to Jungle Jim by sending an email to Ben West, the Associate Pastor, BWest@wesleyumc and cc’d to Sue Ruttman junglejimfund@utilachamber to let them know that a donation intended for Jungle Jim was initiated and give the dollar amount of the donation. The main organizer of these groups over the years, Dana Timaeus, has been coming to Utila since being held captive here during Hurricane Mitch.
