To Parents of Children with Encopresis: You are not alone. This week I saw 33 new patients with encopresis and withholding in my office at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York. The parents all have one thing in common...they are frustrated, overwhelmed and feel there is no light at the end of the tunnel. My expectation is that they all will be clean and dry 24 hours/day after treatment. Remember, you are not alone trying to deal with these issues and that there is real help available.
