To The President Rtn. Supriyo Lodh, RC of Calcutta Kankurgachi, Date 29/06/2013 District: 3291 Sub- Resignation From the post of President Elect RC of Calcutta Kankurgachi With some of my Rtn friends Dear President, I am President Elect 2013- 14, of R C Of Calcutta Kankurgachi . My Classification “Human Side of the enterprise ( H R D )” I am with a heavy heart Compelled to let you know that R C Club of Calcutta Kankur Gachi is working as a dynasty of Lodh Family . My birth in Rotary was in 3240 District At Guwahati Central during 2002 as a Charter Member. I enjoyed my time there with Dr Tapan Roy At Malda DG , Rtn Manas Choudhury D G at Shillong. Last couple of months I am with Kankurgachi Club, and realized in a hard way that working keys are in the hands of Rtn Sumita Lodh (PP) And Rtn Supriyo Lodh(President 11 -12 & 12-13, ) and I will not be able work as an independent President. The board which is given to me is prepared by Rtn Sumita Lodh (PP) And Rtn Supriyo Lodh(President ) included their business associates Rtn Sandip Dey (secretary elect)and Rtn Indrajit Das(treasurer- elect) besides others. These four members are not co operating and supporting me. But running a parallel administration in the club. The incidents and causes which hindering me most are: • Rtn Sumita Lodh(PP) with active support of Rtn Supriyo Lodh(President ) of who is also our club trainer misbehaved with our new members Rtn Subhashree Ghosh(who is a veteran Rotarian and also a PHF), RTn Sinchana at Darjeeling During COTS . • The plan of returning from COTS(which was held at Darjeeling) had been changed at the last moment by Rtn Sandip Dey (Secretary elect) without my knowledge pushing my all fellow Rtns to travel in a non AC buss with their family causing a total pandemonium. • In the gala day of installation dated 26/06/2013 at Rotary Sadan Subhashree Ghosh was invited by me for her induction in our club as she already had sent her membership application letter which was accepted by Rtn Supriyo Lodh(President ) & accepted her chq. For RI dues of 2013-14, she also joined in COTS at Darjeeling where she declared as Club Editor in front of Rtn. Hemanta Bose (AG)& also taken for joint meeting at Darjeeling Rotary Club. But without informing me Rtn Sumita as M.C of the installation ceremony did not call her in the stage to induct her by DG . Then in the stage she in front of DG Elect Rtn Rajani Mukherjee misbehaved with Subhshree, Despite my instruction She did not allow her to go to dais blaming that on the in the previous club she did financial discrimination without having valid proof. . • For the last three years R C Of Calcutta Kankurgachi was run by Rtn Sumita Lodh (PP) And Rtn Supriyo Lodh(President ) You were maintaining club accounts details but when I am asking for the club accounts for the last three years and wanted see Bank Pass Book for 12-13 you did not to produce any such documents. In this scenario I felt in secured and traumatize that it may be a second case of Sarda scam in miniature. • During the president ship handover session on installation day ie on 26th June, 2013, in front of DG Elect Rtn Supriyo outgoing President did not hand over me the charter, on asking he said one earlier president took it and did not return. I am in a fix earlier president must have been heckled in the same way , not returning the charter may be the result of the behavior or else club is not valid never had a charter. I am requesting DG also to enquire about the matter since running a club without charter is a serious offence; it will tarnish the image of Rotary. . • In the of installation dated 26/06/2013 at Rotary Sadan I am physically hackled by Rtn Indrajit Das(treasurer elect)and threatened by Rtn Sandip Dey(secy elect) . As you know I am senior citizen and respectable member of this society, these incident give me great agony, traumatize me make me mentally distressful. • In the of installation dated 26/06/2013 at Rotary Sadan Rtn Sinchana Bhattacharjee was assigned by me and installation chairman Rtn Sumita Lodh (PP) to seat in registration desk as the authorized representative of R C Of Calcutta Kankurgachi but on the instruction of Rtn Sandip Dey(sey elect) Rtn Indrajit Das(treasurer elect) always intervening her job, created problem to perform her duties and at last our honorable Rtn Sumita Lodh(PP) breaking all the barrier of civilization with her top of voice and physical aggregation comes to Rtn Sinchana and snatching the list of registration. I personally wanted to know from Rtn Sinchana about total no of registration, Number of guests arrived etc, during that time Rtn Indrajit was not allowing me to talk to her despite my instruction that I would listen to you after 2 minutes. He kept on disturbing me by not remaining silent and created scene there in front of Rtn Sinchana, Amit Dasgupta, Rtn Jay Saha and others (Crowd). • In the previous installation meeting it was decided that on 26/06/2013 at Rotary Sadan Rtn Amit Dasgupta was assigned as a club M.C but refused by Rtn Sumita Lodh (PP) commenting him as “status less street beggar”. He was asked to leave the podium disgracefully. It was a serious insult to my installation. Not a single rupee was spent by the club or Rtn. Supriyo, all money (Rs 33.00 thousand) I had spent so far, for the installation ceremony, I had asked you to bring at least one litter whisky out of 4 litters per club to the joint installation which you denied, I had asked same cooperation from Rtn Sandip de, he also expressed inability, then asked him to bring at least cold drinks 4 litter that also he denied, was that a my function or club function? RTn Sumita gave sinchana list 10 guests invited by her on actual count we found 11 guests of her had arrived for the dinner and fellow ship. In the same morning you promised me that 10 persons money you would give me before hand at the rotary sadan, on asking you gave me a cheque in a streppled envelop, I asked you why cheque I had pay the caterer cash, but did not have any convincing reply , The Cheque was strep pled in a small envelop, after tear open I saw it was a post dated cheque 30/06/2013, ( Scan Copy enclosed). Can you eat in a hotel by cheque payment> Neither you nor Rtn Sumita lodh wanted to know about payment matter, only Rtn Hemanta Bose took active role in finalizing accounting process. Now I am worried your cheque will be en cashed or not, In case Cheque bounces I will have to contact each invitees requesting them to talk to you / Rtn Sumita for making payment. LOW cultured taste, behavior and threatening with this environment I will not be able to work as a president and on the top of that if I do not work as per Lodh families directives my no plans will be passed. Current president you are, Rtn Sumita Lodh, Secretary Rtn Sandeep Dey, & Rtn Indrajit You 4 are board members, and you will manage with their votes where my way of running & priorities I will not be able to get them through. I wanted to reshuffle board, at least the secretary yourself, and Rtn Sumita did not allow me to do so. Hence I don’t have any autonomy to select my secretary and other members a president who would work with me during 13- 14. Hence no my dream I can put in to action, To Sum up following is my concern:- 1) I wanted to bring about financial transparency in the club administration, which I was not allowed, On asking even you did not provide me Income and Expenditure details for the year 2012 – 2013 2) I told you to issue money receipt to the members who so ever is paying for any reason , you did not follow the this simple rule of accountancy 3) I wanted to distribute books, & Exercise books etc. to poor and meritorious students of Class V & Class X, for motivation to start with this low budget, but my idea was never recorded in the meeting. 4) Regarding Boul project at shantiniketan It was running for last 3 years, I wanted to know and requested you to provide me documents about its present status. You did not provide me any accounts , on the contrary A trust you created and have taken Rs. 2000/- from members for their membership of the trust and also collected donations , How you have spent you did not provide me the details on asking even. 5) I had given you Rs 7000/- last year for club & other RI dues and other occasions different amount without receiving any money receipt for that. 6) I wanted to do good work but you did not allow me to pick a secretary even for that. 7) I asked Secretary 13-14 To bring to me the board resolution for my signature to open the Bank Account with Central Bank on 28th June for the year 2013 -14, which he did not do on the plea treasurer has lodged a complaint against me, at the outset of the tenure so many problems were thrown on me , which I cannot bear any more. Since I am not allowed to handle Bank Account. As a President I am debarred to carry out my job by you and your team. Under the circumcise my learned fellow Rotarians together with me wish quit the R.C. Calcutta Kankurgachi, hence this letter should be treated as my resignation with immediate effect. And you are advised to return my money spent for the Installation and trust membership fee Rs. 2000/- as I am no more a member. I like to draw attention of district higher ups and pray to black list this unholy club, which will be an example for others and Rotary clubs will be disciplined. Sincerely, Yours in Rotary, Rtn.
